Batch Tracing

What is Batch Tracing?

Batch tracing is used to trace products back to the manufacturer, to special process or product characteristics or to the ingredients. Basically, batch tracing helps to protect the consumer from possible defects and damaged products. For this purpose, products are usually marked with a batch number.

Batch tracing is of particular importance in the supply chain of the food industry, the cosmetics industry and the pharmaceutical trade. It can save companies expensive losses or recalls from retailers and consumers by ensuring that production batches can be traced back to their ingredients, production processes and product characteristics throughout the entire manufacturing process and supply chain.
