What is CETA agreement?

CETA stands for Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. It is a free trade agreement signed between the European Union (EU) and Canada. The agreement came into effect provisionally, on the 21st of September, 2017.

CETA trade deal is essential to businesses and people moving goods across the EU states and Canada. The deal eliminates or reduces tariff on the imported goods between the two signatories.

The commitment within the CETA deal is seen as the strongest ever incorporated into an agreement. CETA includes the promotion of labour rights, environmental protection and sustainable development.
