Cross Docking

What is the Cross Docking process?

Cross docking is a procedure in logistics where supplier’s products are distributed to the customers directly with minimal or no storage time at the distribution docking terminal. In other words, cross docking is the process of unloading goods from an inbound source (trailer or trucks) and, without delay load the goods aboard an outbound transport system.

Although this process is quick, it is not suitable for all warehouse needs. For warehouses processing perishable goods, however, the process helps to avoid delays at the terminal.
