What is Logistic Regression?

Logistic regression is a statistical representation of certain type of events. Basically, logistic regression is an extension of the linear regression model, which models the probabilities for classifying problems leading to two possible outcome. Examples of possible outcome are: pass/fail, win/lose, alive/dead or healthy/sick.
