Port

What is a Port?

1. A port is a facility, mostly on the seashore for loading and unloading goods. It is also used for picking and dropping off travellers.

2. A port is a seafaring term. It indicates the entire left side of a vessel while standing at the rear facing the front side. In whatever orientation sailors are standing, the position of the port does not change (always at the left side of the vessel). The opposite of the port is Starboard, which indicates the entire right side of a vessel.
