A specification is a set of documented requirements that describe in concrete form how a contractor will meet the need of a client. In general, specification contains the formulated solutions and detailed requirements, how and with what a product is developed. It is therefore a work breakdown structure. Important structuring points such as product use, target definition or product overview are also recorded in the specification.
Only when the client accepts the requirements specification does the actual implementation work begin with the contractor. This does not only avoids misunderstandings but also makes it possible to handle a project more effectively.
