Six Sigma

What is the meaning of Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is a method of quality management and a management system for process improvement. Its core element is the analysis, measurement, description, improvement and monitoring of business processes using statistical and analytical means.

Compared to other process improvement methods, the special feature of Six Sigma is its mathematical approach. Methodically, the goal behind Six Sigma is to make the performance of processes measurable with the help of key figures.

If the process capability is not good enough, Six Sigma determines the relationship between cause and effect in order to prove the causes of process problems. Six Sigma does not only serve to improve quality but also can be applied universally to all processes in a company.
