Saloodo’s digital freight forwarder platform is growing and simplyfing peoples life. But who are the people behind the monitors, working hours before you are even able to push the registration button?

This week we still celebrate International Women’s Day. That’s why we are really happy to introduce to our always smiling logistics all-round-talent Mirjeta.

Who are you? Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am Mirjeta, 28 years old and a native of Leverkusen. I successfully completed my logistics studies at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and can now officially call myself a Cologne native since 2023! 🙂

Tell us a bit about your work? How did you come to Saloodo!?

I first came into contact with Saloodo! in September 2020 through the Cologne University of Applied Sciences as part of a student project with my university professor Dr Hartmut Reinhard. The aim of this 6-month practical project was to shed light on shipper on-boarding at Saloodo! and to develop improvement measures.

During the project, I was asked if I would like to work at Saloodo! as a student trainee. So I started as a working student at Saloodo! in November 2020 and then also wrote my bachelor thesis in my team at Saloodo! with the topic “Opportunities and risks of operational organisation in digital start-ups”. I then received and accepted an offer for a full-time position as of 01.01.2022, wrote my thesis at the same time and then started working at Saloodo! without any transition.

You have been very successful at Saloodo! - what opportunities did you have along the way and how did you find your way?

At first I was heavily involved in the onboarding process, then I supported the OPS team. I was able to support COO Anja Kappus with my presentations, but I also helped with processes in Customer Service. Claims processing was also a varied topic.

I learned many new things and was able to constantly improve processes, especially for DHL as a customer. This gave me a foot in the door in the direction of project management, and I am currently specifically responsible for Romania, Bulgaria, France and soon Scandinavia.

What do you like about your work at Saloodo?

Besides the points already mentioned above, I also like the freedom to work remotely. I was first able to try this out at my parents’ house in Kosovo to get a taste of “remote work”. I was able to do real remote work during my trip to Mexico – working in the sun in winter, getting to know new cultures, experiencing a lot, and working according to German time, that wasn’t bad! What I also like about Saloodo! is the young team, the general freedom, the one office day, intercultural communication, no static work, lots of variety, business trips and workshops.

What do few people know about you?

Actually, I find psychology super exciting and can imagine exploring this topic even further for myself. Just recently I read the book “Surrounded by idiots”. It was a great stimulus for me with many “aha” moments and direct applicability. I can well imagine shaping my professional life more in this direction.

What else is on your bucket list?

To travel to as many countries as possible. South America and Central America really appeal to me because I love the culture shock and life there is still original. And then to do further training or a master’s degree in leadership, because I think I can put myself in the shoes of all kinds of people.
