DHL’s new digital freight marketplace Saloodo! has set up a high-level, expert advisory board to further assist in the development of the platform. The task of the advisory board is to strategically promote and support the evolution of the start-up by offering a long standing know-how and valuable experience from various disciplines and industries.

The members of the advisory board are recognized in the areas of transport logistics, venture capital, digital transformation and e-mobility. So Saloodo! builds consciously on the knowledge of well-respected experts with various professional backgrounds and skills in future-oriented areas. The newly formed board consists of:
Walter Kuna is Senior Managing Director of the international investment bank Evercore and has many years of experience, especially in finance and mergers & acquisitions.
Dirk Buschmann is a Serial Entrepreneur & Angel Investor focusing on technology start-ups and amongst others, founder of the KI group.
Thorsten Dittmar, founder and investor of Kumbayja Investments Ltd. and BeateKoch, Executive Director New Business at Gruner+Jahr, bring their expertise in the field of new media.
Kjell Gruner is Vice President of Marketing at Porsche AG and brings experience, including with regards to strategic planning and e-mobility and the development of digital business models.
Marc Stilke is active in the management of Internet companies and has been working in the field of venture capital as well as digital transformation since 2015.
On top of that, Saloodo! can rely on the expertise of Deutsche Post DHL Group’s internal circles. Frank Appel, CEO Deutsche Post DHL Group, acts as the Executive Sponsor of the board. The commitment of Frank Appel accentuates the importance and the meaning of Saloodo! within the Group. Steering and supporting the company, along with many years of experience and profound knowledge in the logistics and transport sector, are also Thomas Ogilvie, Group Head of Corporate Development Deutsche Post DHL Group and Bernhard Wirth, CEO DHL Freight Germany.
The advisory board started its work end of March 2017 at their constituent meeting in Bonn. In the future, the advisory board will meet once per quarter in order to inform itself about the strategic orientation, provide the impetus for the further development of the digital freight marketplace and support marketing activities.

Saloodo! combines the best of two worlds: the digital marketplace unites know-how and infrastructure of a global player with the creativity and flexibility of a start-up. The idea of a freight platform in the form of a digital marketplace was developed in 2015 by DHL under the direction of Amadou Diallo. Founded in 2016 and starting in 2017 under the brand Saloodo!, the platform brings a new and powerful digital solution which increases and maximises efficiency in all steps of transport handling between shippers and transport providers.
