Saloodo! in South Africa has recently partnered with We Care Mother Africa https://wecaremotherafrica.org/ , a non-profit organization founded by women for marginalized communities in South Africa, and have successfully distributed hampers to rural women in Inhlazuka, rural Richmond – KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
The digital freight platform Saloodo! shows a sense of responsibility in transport and logistics and especially in environmental protection. Not only by saving the environment by optimizing freight capacity and avoiding empty runs. The company takes concrete action: From now on, Saloodo! will save a wild animal for every milestone the start-up reaches on its way to becoming a global logistics platform for everyone. Latest member of Saloodo! Family has become “Apollo”.
Apollo is a black rhino that was discovered in September 2019 next to its dead mother in Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. Vulnerable to predation and still milk dependent, the little guy was rescued and taken to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Apollo is now being reared there with strong support from Saloodo!.
We Care Mother Africa operates in rural areas that are neglected, mainly due to their geographical positioning and the costs involved in getting aid to communities. The community of Inhlazuka in rural Richmond (KZN) is currently run by a Reverend and his wife – who assist the community.
We believe this project will is a valuable contribution to Saloodo’s CSI portfolio, and we have engaged with a few of our Carriers in South Africa who were willing to partner with us for this cause. For this distribution, Ramgan Logistics partnered with Saloodo! to deliver the following:
Each of Hamper contained:
There will be further various mini Projects in which we will assist during the next few weeks in aid of the “Winter Sprinter Project “, “Mandela Day” & “Woman month” Campaigns hosted by We Care Mother Africa .
Additionally, and as schools had resumed operating partially in South Africa, SALOODO! supported We Care Mother Africa to distribute 1,780 packs of Manhattan Sweets & Marshmallow Snacks to students in the Pietermartizburg, Groutville areas of the Kwazulu-Natal state. We Care Mother Africa was partnered with Premier Foods to supply in excess of 5,200 packs.
Saloodo! in South Africa continues to support We Care Mother Africa in providing trucking solutions to deliver such support packages across the country.
